Funny story...
Well, it's funny now. At 2am on Christmas Eve it wasn't very funny. Let me explain.
Jay started his Claridge Christmas Pudding late on Tuesday, the 23rd. By the time it was in the coffee can ready to boil for three hours it was already 10:30pm. He had to work at 5am the next morning so I volunteered to stay up and add water every 20 minutes until 1:20am. I was so tired, but I had a movie to watch so I let him go to bed. I was doing great. The movie ended and I put water in at 1:05am. Just 15 more minutes to go. The next thing I knew I woke up startled and realized that the smell and sound I was hearing was the pot boiling dry. I looked at the clock and it was 1:50am. Oops. I walked into the kitchen as the smoke alarms went off. They were so loud and so annoying. As I went to pour water in the pot the can caught on fire. The flames shot up as I poured water over them. At this point I was so annoyed with the alarms that I screamed for Jay to come turn them off before they woke Rachel up. I turned to look in the bedroom and couldn't see Jay at all from the smoke. It's been a week and I think we have finally gotten all the smell and smoke out. Thank goodness I walked in when I did. I really don't want to replace the kitchen.
Christmas blessings!

Merry Christmas to Me!!!!!!!!
Our van finally got to the point where we just don't want to waste any more money trying to keep it alive. We found this Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited on Craigs List and it happened to be someone that has owned many Jeeps that we have admired over the past 6 years. Within two days it was ours. It is a 1997, but we got it detailed so it's new to us! It has it's quirks, but I LOVE it!!!
(Notice the oil pan under it with all the nastyness. That's from the van.)
Thank you Jay... you are the best!!!
While trying to finish up quickly at the pool project, Dad decided to load the jack-hammer by himself. When Jay got back to the pool Dad had taken a few good chunks out of his fingers and was in shock. He came pulling in with blood pouring down his hand and it took a bit to get him cleaned up enough to go home. He insisted on coming to the dance performance before going to Urgent Care. They drilled his fingernail, gave him a tetenus shot, gave him some narcotics and bandaged him up real good. What a dedicated Dad!!!
Who says flowers can't buy this girls' love?
Another HOA project!
Drew redoing all the electrical for the pool.
He looks guilty of something, doesn't he? hahaha
Our school, which shall hereafter remain unnamed (for all you psychos who may want to stalk us), won the National Blue Ribbon No Child Left Behind Award. Although I was not there as an aide last year I was still a hard-working parent so I think I deserve a little bit of pride in the matter. :-)
The kindergartners wore these stunning hats so we joined them in the celebration.
