I had a bunch of random pics from the last few months so I threw them together in a montage. Little bit of soccer with Jayne, Uncle Bill's cowboy birthday bash, pics of Nelda, Dad, Eddie Fae and Suzy, Emily's first sleep-over (girls friend), Jay training with Lenny, Kalet and baby Addy, Diamondbacks game - free tickets!!!, Ishikawa school carnival (my school) - I was in the dunk tank, pics of Josh as "Mario", swimming at the Kelly's and finally Jayne and Rachel playing with Jay's childhood toys.
Enjoy!

We went over to the Budges for a game night on Friday. We brought Quelf... the MOST random game ever. So fun!
Brad trying to get us to follow directions and pick our noses. That is a picture of dental floss stuck to his forehead, in case you were wondering...
A little blurry, but Damien was bowing down to Wayne.

Kalet had to wrap her hand in aluminum foil

Claire running in slow-mo while singing "Chariots of Fire"

We wondered why the boys were being so good and not picking on the girls...
They were scorpion hunting in the back yard!
They had a great time.

Rachel (Cinderella), Summer (a friend), Jayne (Snow Princess)

Willie was a "retired Nasa employee", Katie used a marker to draw stubble on his chin...
He wanted to be a Hobo, but they just couldn't make it work.

Rachel wasn't feeling well and found a comfy seat on Jessie's lap.

Jayne's turn to be goalie. Yes, she is dancing and not paying any attention to the game.
Go Diamondbacks!

The girls and I crashed Dyan and Josh's neighborhood Halloween party the night before Halloween. Jay was at a Scout Camporee so we spent the night at Josh and Dyans.

I have been fighting an asthma flare up companied with viral infections for a month now. It's been so fun... yeah right. :-) I missed two weeks of work only to be told that I don't qualify for FMLA because I didn't work enough hours last year. I don't qualify for short term-disability because asthma is a pre-existing condition. I was able to get six days of work in before it all caught up to me again.

I haven't been to church in a month. The weekends at home are getting old. This weekend turned into a very long one for me. By Sunday night I was having the worst asthma attack I have had since high school. Jay kept asking me at what point he should call the paramedics. I would give him guidelines, in brokem sentences and he would say, "So, now." I would convince him it wasn't "that" bad yet.
My pulmo ordered prednisone last night and I finally get to see him this afternoon. I took a pretty high dose last night and I haven't slept since I took it at 7pm. I was shaking and giddy until 2am. Good news is that my airway is finally opening up!

So the moral of the story is .... "Don't smoke crack!" (Adam Sandler, Waterboy)

Have a great day!

For those of you who don't want to watch an 8 minute video montage, here's a few pics...
We did a photo shoot at Pismo Beach. Tons of fun!

I LOVE the way Jon looks at Sara. (I took this one)

Our little Diva!

Just a "few" pics from the first few days of our trip. I came to SLO with Debb and Shawna on Saturday. We are having a blast! We did a family photo shoot on Monday night at Pismo Beach. My mom's friend Wendy and her son took us to a cool spot where they take their family photos. I had so much fun with my new camera. I got pretty wet taking some of the pics, but I enjoyed every second. I had a lot of fun with Sara and her boyfriend Jon. They were good sports. We went up the coast yesterday in a storm to take pics of Morro Bay. More to come...

Rachel's response to everything is "Awesome!" Since the first day of kindergarten when she gets home and we ask how was school the answer is "Awesome!" Back in August Rachel took a spill in PE and her front teeth went partially through her top lip. She had a horrible nose bleed as well. Her dress was covered with blood and it took 20 minutes for the PE teacher to get it controlled enough to take her to the nurse. He said it was the worst mouth injury he has experienced. When Rachel came home that day, her lip was huge and she was bruised pretty good. I said, "How was school today Rach?" She looked up and said, "Not so awesome."

Rachel was so brave all night long. She refused pain meds and just hung out on the couch with some ice on her face. However, Jayne got a paper cut and flopped on the ground off and on for two hours because I wasn't "treating her with the proper attention she deserved". I am not kidding. She is such a drama queen. She finally calmed down when we found the neosporin and wrapped it up like a big laceration. How can my children be so different?

One more funny story...
Rachel is in LOVE with Sara's boyfriend Jon. She just gave Sara a "great idea". "We can make some cookies with a big chocolate chip in the middle and little ones all around and then give them to Jon and he will know they are from BOTH of us!" She thinks she will steal him away.

We got home last night from my mom's friend's house (her 16 year old son had part of his toe removed due to a staph infection and she asked me to come help her pack the wound - she is a nurse... pictures to come!) and Sara and Jon were watching the girls. Jayne ran outside and said that they had kissed a thousand times while we were gone. Jon's response was, "One thousand kisses... no more, no less." When we asked Rachel she denied everything. She wasn't going to squeal. They kissed twice just so you don't think they were really making out in front of my kids. (I am sure Sara is going to kill me for sharing this... too bad). For the rest of the night Jayne kept doing the "I am watching you" thing with her hands. SO funny!
I was home sick last week and needed to get the girls in the doctor so Katie took us and it was an interesting experience. I had bribed Rachel with a promise of $3 if she would give them a urine sample (we are experiencing some fun "girly" problems with her again). She absolutely freaks out about doing this. When we got there I told her we needed to go into the bathroom and do the deed. She started to freak out and I reminded her of the bribe. She stopped crying, grabbed the cup and said, "Let's go make some money!" After the exam I asked if she could get a flu shot. Of course that didn't go over well with her. I told her I would give her two more dollars which would bring her total to $5 for the appointment. Jayne looked at Rachel and said, "I got $5 for my flu shot." Luckily Rachel didn't catch on to her sister's suggestion. I came away $5 poorer, but my kids are getting better and are protected against the flu so I guess it went well.

Two funny things to report today:

Last night Jayne turned to Rachel and said, "Rachel, your breath smells like something died in your mouth."
It's true. The poor kid's mouth always smells bad, especially in the morning. Any suggestions??? Yes, she brushes.

Jay took the girls with him to box at our neighbors house on Friday night. They learned how to "jab, jab, punch"... well, it was more like "tap, tap, tap harder". We were at Josh and Dyan's on Sunday afternoon and the girls were wild. They were chasing each other and jumping over furniture. Jay went over to tell them not to jump on the furniture. As he turned around Jayne grabbed him and starting screaming while holding her face. Jay looked at Rachel and this is the conversation that ensued:

J: "Rachel, did you punch your sister in the mouth?"
R: "Yes."
J: "Why did you do it?"
R: "I don't know."
J: "Was it an accident?"
R: "Yes."
J: "Really? Your fist just happened to fly into your sisters face?"
R: "Yes."

At that point they were separated and disciplined. (Honestly, Jayne had been picking on Rachel for days so it might have been slightly deserved.) Jayne was on the couch and Rachel was on an armchair. Jay turned to walk away and looked over his shoulder. He saw Rachel glaring at Jayne and punching in the air at her like she was punching her face over and over again. Jay gave up and walked away. I thought these were little girls! No more boxing lessons for them!

I taught my first EMT lab last night at SCC! I am interning this semester as a lab assistant instructor. Last night was our first lab... basic airways. I was at the oxygen station. It was so much fun. I really miss being around the Fire guys. They are so funny. We will see what this semester brings and if I want to stay on as an instructor when this is over with. Yipee!

Well, we have been planning another rappelling day for a few months now and decided that the forecast for thunder storms wouldn't stop us from having a fun day with our kiddos. We weren't able to rappell, but we set up a zip-line for the kids and we played in the river. It was so fun! Thanks for everyone who joined us. We are lucky to have such great friends!

Jayne had a party in the morning with her friends and a party in the afternoon with her cousins!

The kids all jumped in the pool before I could get a group shot. Kristen and Laura's kids joined us for swimming and root beer floats. Jayne loved having her cousins come play!
Thanks everyone for making her birthday wonderful!
(Also a BIG thanks to Mom and Dad Abbott for spending the week before Jayne's birthday here and making it even more special! Sara too!)
