Hello everyone in blogging land! We are still here. Katie is home and if you are wondering she still is the same Katie that left. We thought she would come home a different, weird person but she is pretty normal. She doesn't even talk with a sister missionary inflection to her voice. That's good because we would have to make fun of her if she did. We always joked about that in our family as kids.

Anyway, she spoke in church on Sunday and it was amazing. After church we had a lunch at my mom's house where at least 40-50 people came to see Katie. It was nice to see everyone. So much has changed since she left. That night we had a family dinner.

Right before dinner we got a call that Grandpa Clifford had tripped and fallen and had broken his neck. He fractured his C-1 vertebra right where it meets the brain stem. They transported him to Phoenix to Good Sam (they have a good neuro center) and debated whether to do surgery or put him in a halo. He also broke his nose and hurt his knee. Jay and I went to see Grandma and put her to bed. It was hard everytime she asked where Grandpa was. He is the only one she recognizes. We told her he was working and he would be working all week long. She would forget and ask every ten minutes or so. We had family prayer and left her in bed falling asleep. Mom (Linda) drove up that night. She has been with Grandpa at the hospital.
Yesterday they decided the best option was to make a custom neck collar for Grandpa to wear All the time for the next 3 months. At that point they will decide whether surgery is needed. He is 90 and I don't think he would survive surgery or having a halo drilled into his skull. I am glad they have found another option. He hates the collar, but it's not coming off. He should be home in the next few days. He is on bedrest until Wednesday.

So that's what's going on in our neck of the woods. So much fun! Thank you for your prayers for Grandpa. We love you and appreciate your support.

Have a great week!!!
:-)
