It's been a while since I last posted. So many things have happened. A few weekends ago we got hit with a lot of news... none of it very positive. Dad Bowman was diagnosed with cancer again. Grandpa Clifford had a stroke and lost sight in his eye. He is still in the neck brace for another month. Uncle Everett had a stroke and has been in the Tucson hospital for a few weeks. He had another surgery this week and only had a 5% chance of survival, but he made it. Mom is still waiting for her lung transplants and Grandma Clifford is sitting at the Citadel as confused as ever.
The only news that has any positivity involved is that my parents are being transferred to San Luis Obispo at the end of May. My dad will be the institute director of the institute at Cal Polytechnic University. He will also be the Coordinator for all of the Early Morning Seminary programs. It's right up his alley. For those of you who know my mom well, you know that she grew up in Long Island, NY and spent a ton of time laying on the beach. She is an ocean girl. They thought they would go back east for the end of my dad's career, but this is a lot closer. It's 9 hours away, which is a bummer, but Disneyland is right in the middle! I have tried to convince my dad to buy us all Annual passes, but I don't think it's going to happen. It was worth asking though. :-)
SLO (San Luis Obispo) is 10 minutes from the beach. It is tropical and 71 degrees year round. It's absolutely gorgeous. Here's a link that shows pictures at the top of all of the beautiful places in SLO county. Enjoy!
